In Second Chronicles chapter seven, the narrative of answered prayer and responsibility pivots to us. God is basically saying that the prayer is answered for us but the responsibilty for it taking place is on our knees . The obligation flips directly onto us as present-day believers who act on our faith through the simple act of prayer.
God speaks words of many of us know and say by heart: "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
Notice where God places the pivot. He does not condition the healing of the land on the secular culture or the surrounding crowds of non believers.
He conditions it on you in two phrases: "If" and "My people." Listen to this powerful minicast then act on God’s advice.
